Valentine's Dessert - Blog

Valentine’s Day, a time to spend with your significant other and enjoy delectable, decadent treats. Even if you are spending your special day on the road, this fudgy treat is easily made in your motorhome kitchen. If you happen to be looking for your next home on wheels at Eldorado RV, just imagine what it would be like to bite into one of these chocolaty beauties accompanied by a sip of the bubbly.

 1 & 1/2 teaspoons butter
Additional 1 tablespoon butter
One package (11 and 1/2 ounces) of milk chocolate chips
One package (11 and 1/2 ounces) of semi-sweet chocolate chips
One can (14 ounce size) sweetened, condensed milk
1teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cherry extract

Line an 11-inch by 7-inch pan with foil. Using the 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of butter, completely grease the foil. Set pan aside.

Using a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and the additional 1-tablespoon of butter in a microwave. Since microwaves tend to vary in power, keep an eye on the mixture so it doesn’t burn or harden. Stir occasionally until the mixture is smooth.

Add the milk and the extract flavourings and then stir until well blended. Spread mixture into the foil-lined pan, levelling it out until even and smooth. Refrigerate until fudge is set.

Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the foil lining. Peel off the foil and discard. Cut into one-inch squares. Enjoy as is or decorate. Store finished fudge in the refrigerator.

Valentine Decoration

One package (11 and ½ ounces) white chocolate chips
2 teaspoons butter
Red food coloring

Divide white chocolate chips into two microwave-safe bowls. Add one-teaspoon butter to each bowl and microwave until chips are melted. Add one drop of red food coloring to one bowl. If the mixture isn’t pink enough for your taste, add another. Leave the second bowl mixture white.

Line up the squares of fudge on wax paper or foil, making sure no squares are touching. While the chocolate is still warm and fluid, use a tablespoon and drizzle the mixture over the squares, first one color then the other. The dual colors give the treats a lacy, almost 3-D effect. Refrigerate until drizzle solidifies. Bring out that bubbly and munch away!
