January in Lethbridge means taking to nearly 40 kilometres of snow covered nature trails or paying a winter visit to the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. It could also mean watching the local hockey team vie for a win, or taking to the ice yourself for a skate, a bit of curling or your own shinny hockey game. RV Show & Sale Exhibition Park – January 24 – 27

Exhibition Park, also called the Lethbridge & District Exhibition, is at 3401 Parkside Drive South at 43rd Street South. It has been entertaining folks in Southern Alberta since 1897.
Lethbridge Hurricanes – WHL Hockey
The NHL may have started out sitting on their skates but the Lethbridge Hurricanes, part of the Western Hockey League, are going strong. See them in action on January 9th against the Vancouver Giants and on January 25th against the Calgary Hitmen, which given the geographical logistics could be one of the most exciting games of their season. The fun continues through mid-March. The Hurricanes play their home games at the Enmax Centre, 2510 Scenic Drive South near Lethbridge Community College. The closest major cross street is May Magrath Drive South.
2013 Southern Alberta Food & Beverage Expo – January 18
The Enmax Centre is also hosting the 2013 Southern Alberta Food & Beverage Expo on January 18th. This year’s celebrity chef is Chuck Hughes. The Montreal native owns and operates two award-winning restaurants in that Quebec locale, the Garde Manger and Le Bremner. Sample an assortment of foods, wines, liquors and other beverages as you mingle among Southern Alberta’s premier leaders in the hospitality industry. Sponsored this year by Integrity Hyundai, the event runs from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm with tickets going for $25 per person. A special VIP 3-hour meet-and-greet with Chef Hughes is offered, with 125 tickets selling at $105 each.
