The Big Christmas Trade Show – Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st
What better way to find the perfect holiday decoration for your new motorhome than by visiting the biggest Christmas Trade Show in the Lethbridge area? Even if you’re new home on wheels is still waiting for you at, it doesn’t hurt to start looking for that special holiday trim. Located at Exhibition Park, a $2.00 admission gives you the chance to find handcrafted items including jewelry, stained glass and ceramics. Follow the scents of vanilla and chocolate to the fudge makers and sample a bit of heavenly sweetness. Home made cookies, cakes and savoury sausages are also on the trade show menu. You might even find a mini Christmas tree, the perfect size for your new RV. Open Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Santa Shuffle 2012 – Saturday, December 1st
The Santa Shuffle 2012, a benefit event for the Salvation Army, kicks off at 9:30 am at Nicholas Sheran Park in Lethbridge. The 5K Santa Shuffle and the 1K Elf Walk give you the chance for some friendly competition and to contribute to a Happy Holiday for those in need. Finishers receive a colorful Santa Shuffle medal. Post race prizes and refreshments are offered. Racing while wearing a Santa hat, jingle bells and/or reindeer antlers makes perfect sense.
Toys for Tots – Skating For Giving – Saturday, December 8th
The Lethbridge Skating Club is hosting their annual Toys for Tots – Skating for Giving figure skating exhibition. Members of the club perform free-skate programs celebrating the Christmas season. Admission is by a donation of non-perishable food or an unwrapped toy. The exhibition is from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm at the Nicholas Sheran Arena.
Christmas at Annandale House – Saturday, December 15th, Sunday December 16th
Listed on the Alberta Register of Historic Places, the Annendale House lets you experience Christmas with a Victorian twist. Dating back to 1909, this elegantly restored mansion holds an open house each December. The mansion is decked out with a 12-foot Christmas tree and countless lights. Outside, a seasonally charming Victorian Village invites exploration. Enjoy hot chocolate or cider after your tour. Admission is by donation, benefiting the LFCA, a local organization that helps families in need. The house will be open from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
