Calaway Park -- A Blend of Amusement Park Delights and RV Camping Fun - Blog

The kids are into amusement parks, while you prefer to load up the camper and spend time in the great outdoors. After all you did just get that new rig from your Alberta RV dealer and you’re eager to take it on the road. Why not take advantage of that non-stop fun center, Calaway Park? Located 23 kilometres west of downtown Calgary off the Trans Canada Highway, this amusement park offers RV camping within steps of the action.

Amusement Park Fun For All Ages

Featuring everything from an old-fashioned carousel to a water version of bumper cars, Calaway Park will keep visitors of all ages active and amused. Climb inside a giant spinning strawberry or explore a man-made tunnel on the Rocky Mountain Railroad. The littlest visitors can pilot their own Tot Yacht or visit the Theodore Tugboat playground for some climbing fun.

Thrill seekers won’t be disappointed. The Vortex roller coaster will take you up and around and upside down while the Adrenaline Test Zone spins you high and fast above the park. You’ll get good and wet on the previously mentioned Bumper Boats and the Shoot the Chutes splash adventure. Cinemagic 3D is a new attraction in the center of Calaway Park, featuring films that seem to leap off the screen. Offering 24 food vendors, 32 rides and 26 games, there is more than enough to entertain even the most energetic family.

Convenient RV Camping

After your busy day at the park it’s just a quick stroll to your campsite in the neighbouring RV Park. Offering 104 campsites with full and partial hook-ups, the campground has its own sundry store, laundry, showers and wireless Internet access. Take advantage of the camping/amusement park packages offered. One of the favourites is the “RV Having Fun Yet Package” that includes a night’s camping and one-day passes for up to four people to Calaway Park. Reservations are advised. The campground fills up quickly, especially during the Calgary Stampede and Canada Day celebrations.
